Have I ever told y’all how interesting the Jurassic World universe would be if powers/mutantions existed?  Like this is a world of genetic slicing and very, very shady business practices, it’s super believable that experimentation lead to the enchanced individuals.  By the time of the Jurassic World movies, these mutantions are common enough although legislation and acceptance is still iffy.

And just, imagine how much more interesting this would be for the characters (and how many plot holes it would fill)

Let’s start with Owen having an animal mutantion.  As far as mutantions go, it’s common enough.  But usually people can tell what kind of animal mutation they have, and usually they aren’t as powerful as Owen’s.

But whatever, being able to understand and (to some extent) control animals has gotten Owen pretty far in life.  Including landing him a job with dinosaurs, where he finally discovers his animal - raptors (and his mutantion explains why he doesn’t use any actual training techiques). 

Now Claire, I’m not sure what mutantion she would have.  Only that she desperately tries to hide it.  Unlike Owen.  It’s just not something she wants advertised, the fact both her sister and parents have always hated her mutantion is certainly a big part of why.

But of course, no matter how hard she tries, their will always be rumours.  It’s those rumours that lead Owen and Claire to meet, and to date.  But of course it goes horribly because both having powers is not enough for them to last.

Zach having powers too would also be interesting, a good way to explain why his parents seem so dismissive of him comared to his brother - they don’t like that he’s developed powers.  Gray being in the early stages of developing powers could also be interesting - an extra point of tension beyond the parental divorce.

And then, of course, there’s the Camp Cretaceous kids.

Shay works as one of the park rangers, usually accompanying the engineers when certain systems within the free range exhibits fails. She tranqs any dinos that get to close or aggressive, always firing off a warning shot to give them a chance to move on.

She also works with some of the dinos herself, her favorites being the smaller herbivores. Some herds she’s been around for so long that they don’t bat an eye when she strolls on through to retrieve something from the jeep when the herds have gathered themselves around it.

Since i lost access to my other account, i have moved to this new one.

As well as a few of my own projects, like Lost Planet, inspired by the Carnivores game series, partially due to my Retrosaur obsession.

But also more on Jurassic World except with mutant powers.

So I’ve decided Claire’s power is a form of clairvoyance.  She doesn’t see the future, but she can see what she has to do to get the best possible outcome.  Sort of like Ladybug’s lucky charm - which is why she knows to move the bin at the start of the movie, and why she knows to go for Owen’s help, and why she knows to get the T-Rex.

Zach’s power is eletricity.  In it’s most basic form, he can generate eletricity but he’s practiced it to be more precise too, making it possible for him to control anything eletronic.  He uses this to overrid the geosphere’s programming, letting them take it ‘off road’, and to activate the taser in the car.

Light fingers tapped on the screen of his phone, a variety of colors exploding into digital pixels as he cleared another level of his game, ignoring the warm breath that fanned out at a steady rhythm just above him and fogged up his screen in the process. The shadow cast by the creature was appreciated though, even if it was little overwhelming, the island’s temperatures ranging in the hundreds most days with little to no reprieve from the sun around where he usually worked. The thing over him had been there long enough to develop a cool spot though, which he didn’t mind in the slightest.He let out his own sigh of relief, pressing the icon displaying the words “next level” and moving on to the next board, face going back into his “concentration mode” as Allura had put it a day long ago.He had nearly cleared it when a phone call interrupted his game, letting out a breath of frustration as he begrudgingly answered it, voice coming out in a sharp and irritated hello.“Shiro, we’ve done what we needed to reinforce the walls and added a few other things inside she’ll enjoy as well,““Is that why it took so long?““Partly, we found a chemical leak in her water and had to drain and filter out that portion of her enclosure to replace the piping and seal it with hollow tubing, so if the actual pipe does end up breaking again it won’t leak into her water supply, that’s why she hasn’t been drinking lately, the smell was abhorrent. We’ll start work on giving her a back up water supply though just in case.“ Allura explained, a rustling coming through the phone, he heard her yelling at someone to be careful with some equipment before she returned back to him. “You can get her down here safely right?““Yeah, she seems pretty focused on me, want me to start walking?““Please.““Alright, see you in a few.“Shiro began walking from the old main building of the original park, old, dead leaves crunching under his boots as he shook his foot to rid them of the vines that crawled along the floor, getting crushed under his heels as he walked.

Black followed him closely, large head close to the ground as her steps seemed to thunder on the ground, the large t-rex only focused on the human in front of her, waiting for him to acknowledge her at some point.

But he never did, continuing on walking with her following behind as casually as if she were a dog and not a nine ton carnivorous lizard. He had no problem getting her to enter her enclosure however, and continued inside without her even noticing where she was before he slipped through the human sized doorway with ease.
