Steve adjusted the broach again, the shining silver metal glinting in the low lamplight, his warped reflection staring back at him in its shiny reflection. 

Steve always thought t suited her--the air of royal decorum, and sophistication. Diana was a warrior, and unifying force. And well, when you’re a princess of the Amazons, how else are you supposed to dress. 

“Yes, I have!”

Aella beamed, however, she had been training with Bruce and his kids, which was something she was not used to and had to follow their routines and not the one she was used to following with her mother. But she was just happy that she could keep her skills up and now that Diana was back, things could go back to normal. Slowly the younger brunette broke the hug.

Sometimes, contrary to what Alfred might think, Bruce enjoyed a moment of quiet. The stillness of the air, his mind finally at ease if only a moment. The air was cool and crisp but but he felt warm enough in his coat. 

Harley’s words fall on deaf ears as Diana only gives a glance over her shoulder.

“ I have better things to do than brutalize you, Quinn. “

Yes, there’s more the amazon could say on the matter: if Quinn wanted to be hit like someone meant it - - - there was always The Joker who was ever willing. Her stomach churns at the very thought and she whisks it out of her mind again.

“ Besides, shouldn’t you be somewhere else right now ??? I heard Arkham has a nice padded room with your name engraved on the door. “

“No, you dont!” Harley stomped a heavy, booted foot. And then groaned at the childishness of it all. “Don’t you walk away from me, Wonder Woman!” 

It was an altogether weird experience, screaming at Wonder Woman’s back like a three-year-old who wasn’t getting their way - especially since getting her way meant being very hurt. But it was all Harley could think to do. It touched on memories of similar conversations. It reminded Harley of the addictive quality of pain, how she could want it so much just for the attention. 

She would go to hell before she let Wonder Woman brush her off like nothing. “If you want me to go to Arkham, you’re gonna have to put me in there yourself, Princess! And if you walk away, you already know what kinda shit I’m gonna get up to in this city.”
