Well girls and women are conditioned to hate their body in it's natural form. That it's something to be "fixed." We're told to shave off all our hair except for what's on our head, we're told that our natural face isn't pretty so we must use makeup that harms our skin, we're told that our weight is always too high. In doing all of this, we are not only ruining women's perception of their body image, but again we're objectifying them. We're telling them that their worth comes from their attractiveness to men, because that's the only way they're shown(in mass quantities) by the media. This tells boys too that they have all access to female's bodies because it's something that's there for them. Which is really fucking dangerous. On top of that, if we look at how the media speaks to boys the difference is ridiculous. Our culture tells boys that their bodies are tools that equip them to take on the world. This is why the body image is so much less important to boys. Because yes, they should be "hot", but their sole worth does not come from their looks or attractiveness to possible partners. They get their worth from their character, often times even if it's shitty because again, men are seen as people and women are seen as objects. And this is where women's ""cattiness"" comes from. They're told their ultimate goal and worth depends on getting a mate and being attractive. So we've conditions them to feel insecure when another woman is seen as attractive. This is how patriarchy gets women to do it's dirty work. If we're SO busy hating each other for reasons that men made up, and busy "fixing" our bodies, and running after men to "complete" us- excuse me while I barf- We won't have time to cherish each other and work against this shitty system as a class. Because the patriarchy is shit. We're taught to hate ourselves and other females, and femaleness in general, to cater to a stupid system. Fuck that. I love my girlfriends. They are the strongest people you will ever meet. Boys are fucking stupid and I don't have the time or patience for them.
