If they had to kill someone off in that scene, I do wish it had been Vel instead. We've had a lot of focus on her and her feelings and how much she wants to reconnect with Cinta, it would have been a nice point in the story to switch to Cinta's perspective and feelings and the guilt of knowing she'd pushed Vel away for so long and now it's too late. i think the biggest thing about moving on that makes it feel wildly ooc is that while house is a toxic, manipulative ass... he's actually very rarely vindictive or aggressive unless it serves an agenda. cuddy says it well in 3x09:
I've seen House be rude a thousand times, usually to achieve something. I have never seen him be mean just because he can.
the moment cuddy's referring is Bad, and it's meant to be. it's supposed to be shocking and somewhat ooc to show how much the withdrawal is affecting him.
house is many things, but he's not sadistic. he's not cruel just for the sake of being cruel; hurting people isn't intrinsically gratifying for him.
and he does have a moral compass! it's just a really fucking weird one. for all his cynicism and (alleged) misanthropy he cares a lot about justice, fairness and integrity. he wants to do the right thing! though obviously his self-centeredness gets in the way of that sometimes.
lashing out in a physically aggressive way against someone he cares about who hasn't done anything morally wrong completely goes against seven seasons of characterization.
seeing all of those... grandiose fanarts make me feel like shit at times haha
but then, i remember how much i love the amateurish fanworks i found on pixiv since i first started getting into a fandom as a lurker, those are the fanartists that made me think "SHIT I REALLY WANNA LEARN HOW TO DRAW"
i hope my art can make some people feel that way too... it might not be the most beautiful art that ever existed, but if my works can inspired you to also create something filled with love...
