Junk ship
“Chinese Junk” - Colour woodcut by Lilian May Miller (1895-1943). Dimensions: 8.8 x 8.9 cm. Accession number: 1991.1.231
Miller was an American artist who was born in Tokyo and trained in traditional Japanese painting styles and techniques. She made woodblock prints and was among a group of western women who practiced shin-hanga wood prints, that was the 20th-century version of Ukiyo-e prints, but that included contemporary scenes.
