I wanted to read a yandere martin fanfic which was yandere martin x juhoon but apparently there was none.. sooo chapter 1 here we go!! π³ pls leave suggestions in chapter 2 so i have ideas..
Chapter 1 β You Always Know Where I Am
Martin has never considered himself a jealous person.
Jealousy, to him, has always seemed childish. Something loud and ugly, something that belongs to people who don't know how to keep themselves composed. Martin knows how to keep himself composed.
He knows how to smile when he doesn't feel like smiling. Knows how to nod through conversations that bore him. Knows how to sit quietly while someone else receives praise that he thinks should have been his. He knows how to swallow things.
That is why nobody notices.
Nobody notices the way his eyes follow Juhoon whenever he crosses a room.
Nobody notices how Martin remembers exactly who Juhoon spoke to that day.
Nobody notices that he knows which members Juhoon gravitates toward when he's tired, which ones make him laugh, which ones he calls when he needs something.
Nobody notices because Martin never makes a scene. He doesn't need to. He has patience.
And patience, Martin has learned, is much more useful than anger.
Juhoon doesn't know about any of this, That's what makes it easier. He doesn't know that Martin knows his usual coffee order.
He doesn't know that Martin can tell when he's pretending to be fine.
He doesn't know that Martin can distinguish between his real laugh and the polite one he gives when someone says something that isn't funny.
He doesn't know that Martin knows the exact expression he makes when he's trying to remember something.
He doesn't know that Martin notices when he hasn't eaten.
He doesn't know that Martin counts the empty chair beside him before deciding where to sit.
He doesn't know that Martin has started thinking of that chair as his. Not officially.
Not literally, But enough. Enough that seeing someone else occupy it makes something unpleasant twist beneath Martin's ribs.
Tonight, someone else sits there, Martin notices immediately. Of course he does.
Juhoon is laughing at something they're saying, his head tilted slightly to the side, his eyes bright.
Martin watches from across the room, He doesn't interrupt, He doesn't glare He doesn't even say anything, He simply watches.
The person beside Juhoon reaches over and steals one of his snacks, Juhoon protests, laughing.
Martin's fingers tighten around his bottle. Once. Twice. Then relax.
It doesn't matter, It's nothing. They're friends.
Everyone is friends. Juhoon is allowed to have friends.
Martin knows that, He knows that very well.
The problem is that knowing something doesn't always make accepting it easier.
"Martin?" He looks up.
Juhoon is standing in front of him.
"Yeah?"
"You've been quiet."
Martin smiles.
"I always am."
Juhoon glares
βNot like this.β
Juhoon sits down beside him, not the other person
The irritation inside his chest disappears so quickly that it almost embarrasses him, Martin looks down at his phone.
"Just tired."
Juhoon studies him.
Then, without asking, reaches over and takes the drink from Martin's hand.
"You're not drinking enough."
Martin stares at him.
Juhoon takes a sip.
Then makes a face.
"That's disgusting."
Martin laughs.
"You took it."
"I thought it was mine."
"You have your own."
"Yours looked better."
Martin looks at him.
There is no reason for his heart to beat faster, It does anyway, Because this is how it always starts. Small things.
Tiny pieces of affection that probably mean nothing. A drink. A laugh. A hand brushing his sleeve. A seat beside him. A message late at night. Normal things. Ordinary things.
Things Juhoon does without thinking.
Martin thinks about them for days.
That night, Juhoon leaves the room with someone else. Martin watches him go.
He waits. One minute. Two. Five.
He tells himself he is only checking the time.
At seven minutes, Martin stands. Nobody notices.
He walks down the hallway.
He knows where Juhoon went.
Of course he does.
Martin has seen him disappear through that door dozens of times.
When he reaches the end of the hallway, he stops.
He can hear laughter.
Juhoon's laughter.
Martin closes his eyes.
For one moment, something ugly rises inside him.
He wants to open the door. He wants to interrupt. He wants Juhoon to look at him. Only him.
The thought comes so naturally that Martin almost doesn't recognize how wrong it is. He opens his eyes.
Then he turns around, He goes back, He doesn't interrupt, Not tonight.
Because Martin understands something important.
If he wants Juhoon to choose him, he can't make himself into someone Juhoon wants to escape from. He has to be the opposite, Safe, Reliable, Familiar.
The person Juhoon goes to when everyone else becomes too much. Martin can wait.
He is very good at waiting.
The next morning, Juhoon sends him a message.
**Martin left early yesterday.**
Martin stares at the screen.
He types.
Deletes it.
Types again.
βWas tired.β
The response comes quickly.
βYou should've said bye.β
Martin smiles.
His chest feels strangely warm.
βSorry.β
Three dots pop up.
βIt's okay.β
Martin looks at those two words for longer than necessary, Then another message appears.
βAre you free later?β
Martin doesn't hesitate.
βFor you? Always.β
He deletes it, Too much, Instead, he sends:
βYeah. What's up?β
Juhoon replies that he wants to get food later, Just the two of them.
Martin reads the message twice, Then a third time.
Something inside him settles, He doesn't smile this time.
He simply looks at the screen and thinks about how easy it was, How little he had to do, He hadn't asked, He hadn't demanded, He hadn't interfered, He had simply waited, And Juhoon had come to him.
Martin sets his phone down. Almost peaceful.
Because Juhoon doesn't know yet.
He doesn't know how long Martin has been waiting.
He doesn't know how carefully Martin has built himself into the background of his life.
He doesn't know that every small piece of trust feels like another thread tying them together. And Martin doesn't intend to tell him, Not yet.
There is no need to frighten him, There is no need to rush, Juhoon can keep thinking this is friendship.
He can keep laughing with other people.
He can keep sitting beside whoever he wants.
He can keep believing that he is free to choose.
Martin doesn't need to take anything from him.
Not when he can simply make himself impossible to replace.
Eventually, Juhoon will look around and realize something, Whenever he needs someone, Martin is there, Whenever he's tired, Martin knows, Whenever he's upset, Martin notices, Whenever he disappears, Martin finds him. And when everyone else leaves,Martin stays. Always.
Juhoon just doesn't know yet that Martin has no intention of ever leaving.
HIIII OKAY THATS THE END OF CHAPTER ONE SORRY IT WAS SO SHORT ITS 3AM AND IM TIRED I PROMISE CHAPTER 2 WILL BE SO MUCH BETTER.
