Jubilee celebrations typically start at 25 years. Before that it's usually fairly low key. A new photo, maybe a message of thanks, sometimes a commemorative coin or a stamp. At a push you might get a lunch. Surprisingly Spain’s celebrations seem bigger than most 10th anniversaries 🤷🏻♀️
one of my favorite parts of this weekend was seeing how close all the kids are. mia and charlotte playing in the window, savannah and isla waving at george and charlotte. super cute!

Hi! Since I love your no-nonsense and level-headed attitude to royal watching, I was curious to know how you would evaluate these jubilee celebrations. Would you say it's been a success? Is the state of the monarchy better because of it?
Hello :) We talked about the engagements themselves in depth in this week’s podcast but yeah, it was successful I’d say. People had a nice time, no one did anything controversial! There’s always a bit of an upswing in positivity after any big event like this where people have a holiday and/or reason to get drunk - weddings, jubilees, Olympics etc - but the monarchy wasn’t under any significant threat before the jubilee so I can’t imagine it’ll make a huge amount of difference to how secure they are in the long term!
Did you watch the Jubilee Concert? I didn't because nothing will ever top Grace Jones hula hooping her way through Slave To A Rhythm during the Diamond Jubilee.
I did! It was good, will feature in the podcast this week :) I honestly don’t remember watching the 2012 concert. I know that happened but I don’t think I actually watched the full thing?
