Hi! First of all, hope youâre having a good day!! Second, I really hope youâre not sick and tired of getting asks about jsyd, because welp, here comesâŚ. I just have to tell you how much I adore every single letter youâve written for that fic. For me, the best thing about jsyd is that you could pluck each of these characters right off the pages and set them down in the real world and theyâd⌠work? Because (not only Steve and Bucky, also Sam and Nat and each of the commandos and DONT get me started on Winifred and George and⌠you get the gist) they have personalities and like, these little tells that make them them, and you are such a talented writer in general, but you write dialogue so wonderfully!!! Itâs so realistic and not too over the top, but still brings the plot along and shows how bucky and Steve just evolve with each other. I love this fic with my whole heart, I really do, so thank you for writing it!!! The extras youâve written too. Iâm astounded how much work and time youâve put into this. writing is a hobby that can be so time consuming, so thatâs really, really impressive. I hope it still gives you some kind of joy :) I donât know if you have an answer to that, and if so, if you you even want to answer it, so feel free to ignore! But Iâve been dying to know if thereâs like, a specific moment/timeframe where Bucky realizes heâs falling for Steve? Itâs mentioned that he already knows when theyâre making breakfast for the commandos and Nat and Clint in the first extra, but Iâve always wondered when Bucky crossed that point of no return :) hope youâve had a good week, and wishing you a great weekend!!
Okay so Bucky didnât have his one big italicized oh moment to realize he was in love the way Steve did; Bucky was aware the whoooole time he was falling. And he was actively fighting it! He felt very guilty and embarrassed and bad about himself. He actually wasnât quite at the point of no return in that breakfast scene. He definitely knew he was falling hard for Steve and hurting over the countdown they had going (he had going, really, because at that point Steve was still like hearing carnival music and having a good time lmao) but there was a part of him that was still clinging to the hope that he could stop himself from falling deeper. Buckyâs point of no return for really realizing he was completely in love with Steve and he wouldnât be able to sort of pull himself out was when he got that first doodle in his lunch. He was between classes, he was stressed, he was self-conscious, and he pulled that out and saw a dorky little thing Steve had done to make him feel better. And he kind of put his head down and had a little cry about it because he knew he couldnât even pretend to himself anymore and he âknewâ Steve didnât feel the same. (Silly boy. Why do you think he put the doodle in there??? But in fairness, Steve also didnât know he felt the same lol.) So in a lot of ways, everything is much angstier from Buckyâs pov. Poor guy.
