They were a team. At least that’s what he believed in. They’ve tried to save Riverdale from its tragic fate numerous times, she was his anchor and he hoped he was hers. Yet, it was hard not to see what his new responsibilities had done to their relationship. Today it was one of those days he wasn’t there for her. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to be there, he just didn’t know what she was planning to do. It seemed as if she didn’t want to disturb him and even though he was thankful for how selfless she could be, sometimes that part of her worried him. She was always there for him and yet she didn’t allow him to be there for her.
“ Why didn’t you tell me what you were planning to do? You think your mother is a better partner than I am?” One of his eyebrows was raised, a smirk was dancing on his lips but he was still worried. After they’ve discussed the tapes and the need for them to figure out who was the mastermind behind it all, who held the key to all of the answers they needed, he decided that they needed to focus on their relationship too. He loved her, he knew that something like that couldn’t destroy what they had but still it felt as if they were growing apart.
“ It’s not the first time you are doing something alone. Something I could have helped you with.” He explained as his fingers started abusing his hair. “ I know you are stronger than Bret and that you are not some damsel in distress but we don’t have any idea what he is capable of. We don’t know what kind of connections he has.” @jrnalst
