Like one of my students always tells me, "everyday is a beautiful day!" It's all about the way we perceive it! Like I said in my last post, sometimes we just need to create our own sunshine. This afternoon, I created my own sunshine when I made this green sparkle smoothie (page 139 Joyous Detox)! When my cells are nourished and happy, I am happy! Each day, we are faced with a choice. I choose happiness! How about you?

Turnin' up the beet this Sunday morning as there is still no sunshine in sight! This beet and strawberry detox juice is how I'm starting my day. How about you?

Sometimes you just gotta make your own sunshine! Right?! Today, in my grade two health class, we were writing about the healthy choices we discussed last week (see a few posts back for the ideas we came up with). While the students were busily working away, one of the littles comes up to me and asks, "Miss, what are those hexagon-shaped vegetables called?" I was seriously perplexed...I eat a LOT of vegetables, but I have NEVER seen a hexagon-shaped one. So, I started rhyming off the names of random vegetables to see if it would spark a connection. Sweet potato? Parsnip? Cucumber? "Yes!" he exclaims. "It's a cucumber!" Okay...now, I was even more confused. I don't ever recall seeing a hexagon-shaped cucumber. He continues, "My nanny gives us hexagon-shaped cucumbers for snack!" I'm sure you can figure out the rest.. haha!
