Today I want to share with you a little peek into my process. So here are my go-to favorite tools, some of which we’re going to use in February 24th’s #MovingPaint #workshop here in the #joybarn. (Everything but the brushes 😉 see link in my bio for more info) With these tools, plus my fingers and hands, I can pretty much paint anything I want. So here’s what you’d see all around my studio as I’m painting.....I’ve already talked here recently about my love affair with #novacolor #paints. They are gooey and luscious and require lots of water, so you’ll find lots of old salsa buckets of water around. I use different buckets for different colors so I don’t have to stop and clean out the water when it gets muddy. You’ll also see lots of paper towels in various stages of wetness and crumpled-up-ness. I use these to quickly clean my fingers before I dip them into another jar of paint, or to wipe away stray colors or to blend roughly. I reuse those over and over, as they dry overnight. They are everywhere 😂. And then there’s some old combs that I use for texture and mark-making and paint removal and blending, they can do so much. Plus this old cork, never far from my palette, makes great patterns and textured circles and is also a great blending tool. And then there’s brushes. I have LOTS of them, all types and qualities. But the ones that get the most use are the biggest full sloppy ones, and the teeniest tiniest for details — I’m always on the lookout for 10/0 brushes, not easy to find.
