I agree about the Zendaya thing. I love Zendaya as a celebrity personality, but I've seen her acting on Disney. There are plenty of other actresses who would better fit the role, but I think she was casted in order to help completely pull out of her Disney image and to show she's ready for a new variety of roles she could play. However, I don't think she's ready for that. I'm not sure if she's made much progress or not, and you know, I just... am not that excited to see her play the role of...
of someone so iconic and dear to so many of us. And as for her racial/ ethnic background, I can see how it can bother some people how a mixed girl is playing someone who is only black. idk... It doesn't really irritate me that much, though.
I don't want to be angry at the fact that she's mixed, because I've seen mixed people physically fit the bill and be darker (I'm really not sure how I feel about that part in particular)...but idk...at the same time, we all know there are literally thousands of black actresses out there ready and willing to take on this role and knock it out of the park. Based on Zendaya's work so far, I'm really not impressed enough to think casting her as the lead in any biopic makes sense. Like we get it, she's pretty and easy to market, but hell no this wasn't a good choice in casting.
