So with heavy hearts we're parting ways with Jon Biegen. Please read below for what Jon wrote for all you guys to read.  To be clear, this was a mutual thing completely Jons decision and there is NO bad blood between him and the band.  And he'll be involved in many love, robot adventures to come.

In 2005(ish) I had met up with Brandon Hom and Matt Clunie in Brandon's bedroom to start our new hardcore band. With a bunk bed, full drum set multiple dressers and a half stack amp, we each had to find a small nook in the room in order to practice; each of us cramped in our own space. Yet I was beyond happy to be cramped in my little space of the bed at 15 looking up to bands like Underoath, Every Time I die, On Broken Wings, and Stray From The Path. It was just the three of us; one guitarist, one drummer, and a screamer, eventually adding my MicroKorg to the mix. We went on to share the stage with The Red Dream, Emmure, Severed Us, and Dr.Acula and made a ton of friends on the way. Our only concerns at the time were br00tal breakdowns and getting our friends to dance.

It wasn't until a little bit later that I started to take it seriously, think of it as a career. A few of my friends in The Red Dream had invited me to work on a top-secret project with them in Manhattan with a lot of money put into it. And before I knew it I was on a train to the city to meet Joseph Janus and The Berman Brothers, the men who wrote the A Night At The Roxbury soundtrack, Who Let The Dogs Out, and Hanson’s Mmmbop. I auditioned for the band with Dashboard Confessionals Hands Down my heart beating out of my chest. They went outdoors to discuss it and came back to tell me I got the gig. I remember one moment on the phone with a friend when the guys went out to lunch and I was standing on the top floor of an office building surrounded by platinum records. Out on the balcony we were overlooking St.Patrick's Cathedral all of New York City at my fingertips, I was overwhelmed; a little scared, but beyond excited. We recorded at Chung King Studios, created by the Beastie boys, and were recording down the hall from major label artists, writing songs to get ready for a big tour starting in Germany. It was a little overwhelming and VERY exciting. But as we quickly learned more about the nature of the major label industry we learned more about the downside even quicker. The other guys felt as if they were "selling out" and didn't recognize the opportunities in front of them. Everything stopped.

And then there was nothing.

I tried to bring Love, Robot into the city a few times, but nothing was the same. Everything changed but the spark in my eye. It changed me, inspired me. Jump-started my passion for music and drastically increased the drive to reach such a limitless means to share it with others. I've seen what it could be and I swore I wouldn't stop until I got back there. In that moment we decided to retire from Hardcore for a while and went through what Alexa, Matt, and I like to call Love, Robot's awkward stage. Eventually through time we met with Alexa and all became friends, (Alexa and Brandon dated for 2 seconds and I think they held hands once.)

We decided that Alexa should be in the band with us, and begun to form Love, Robot's pop punk phase. "Phone Calls and Face Plants", "Regards" and a ton of other songs many of you have probable never heard because we've only ever played them in crowded bedrooms and eventually Alexa's spacey basement. We worked and worked and started playing way more shows. One of the most notable was trying to win a battle of the bands contest only to have everyone turned away because of their age, so had well over 100 kids come back to Alexa's house to play the show in her living room. We continued to play and began to really start taking our lyrics seriously with songs like Eleven Eleven. Which was out tribute to our dream of wanting to make being a musician a career. We started out on our first tour with The Here And Now and got a taste of band life. It was difficult with Alexa going to school in Boston, but we pushed on, and all made honest efforts to keep things moving, Alexa coming home almost every weekend.

It’s been nearly 7 years since I was that 16-year-old boy sitting on a bunk bed with a mic in his hand and a spark in his eyes. It’s been an incredible adventure and I’ve made a ton of new friends on the way. I never though id be looked up to, or help someone through a hard time or even save a life just by sharing my passion for music. We've played out of country, been on MTV, Met some incredible people, and become best of friends on the way. Of course there were hard times as well, as being in a band is like being in a 5-way relationship sometimes. And for the longest time I had the anxiety level equivalent to as if I were of getting a divorce. I started to see changes in myself, a simple lack of interest, and I felt guilty for it, but I realized that as much as I loved the music and these people, I was growing as a person and part of that was no longer being able to put my all into this band, which would not be fair to them, fans, or myself. Simultaneously I started experimenting with new types of music and my path came full circle when I started to really consider a career as a composer for Film. See, while being in the early stages of Love, Robot and even before I was simultaneously taking screen writing courses at SVA and making movies with my friends.

I have been writing music since I was 8 years old on my dads lap picking notes etched in crayon on his Yamaha keyboard. I grew up using Cakewalk and composing with Midi. I will continue making music until the day I drop dead. I will continue to be here for all of you I may have helped over the years, and can not express how much you have helped me, I love all of you who have been kind enough to support us over the years and I will always be here. I will always love Alexa, Matt, Taylor, Sean, Anthony, Brandon, and everyone who has been such a huge part of my life for the past few years. Thank you so much for your time and love. I may or may have not shed a tear or two going through this process, but probably not because I'm way too manly. I hope to continue to touch your lives with my music in the future, as you have all touched mine, Thanks you for everything, it has been amazing.
