Seriously at what point should one employ a mobility aid?
I now have physio exercises that really really help with my hypermobility, they've made a HUGE difference. But I very much have a very obvious point where the capabilities of the physio drop off.
I just walked 1.7 miles through town and I had my legs tensed up so hard, and I was concentrating so hard, to just walk straight and pick my feet up properly. Idk how to describe it, it felt like I had to tense my leg muscles to keep myself together and take each step. I'm so sore now :( Ive immediately crashed on my bed and am dreading going back out and walking anymore.
I do my physio frequently, but I couldn't go on a hike anymore like I used to :( the physio won't take me that far. My left leg is especially bad, much worse than my right.
I'm wondering if a mobility aid of some sort would help in certain situations like walking round a museum, around a city, or a pride parade. I wonder if it'd help just take some of the stress off especially my left leg. But my physio said he "doesn't believe in physical aids" so how am I supposed to know when an aid would be helpful to me? Will it do more damage? But at the moment, even with good physio, I can't spend a day in a flat city wandering about, I can't go on a walk that's considered easy, walking around a flat museum *hurts*, I feel really limited in what I can do :(
My parents want to do a 6 miles walk next week and I'm, fucking hell, I can't do that. It'll cause so much pain. The recovery will be endless. I'm absolutely dreading it.
