Little David Hill runs out of last chances when the leader of his local street gang accuses him of pickpocketing his scores. An accusation that escalates into an all out brawl, leaving one man missing part of his face, and the other in police custody waiting to face the music. Lucky for David, the fuzz couldn't believe such a small, unassuming boy could cause so much damage, and at the end of the day, a major player in local crime had been confined to the hospital.

Released into the custody of a nearby Catholic boys' finishing school, the only other alternative given being a work house known for mangling hands, David does what he can to keep a low profile - fully aware that the building is in the dead center of a rival gang's territory. His presence draws the attention of the boarding school's local tough guy and the young leader of the local 'club', The Apostles. However, John doesn't seem to know, or believe, David's seeded past and instead chooses to bully him for being small and new.
