John Coltrane – Blue World
Blue World is an album of 1964 John Coltrane recordings, created as a film soundtrack and released on September 27, 2019.
Reception.
Stereogum’s Phil Freeman gave the soundtrack a positive review, calling the piece a coherent recording that almost functions as a suite and writing that the performances are “fascinating and entertaining”. For The Arts Fuse, Michael Ullman claims that Coltrane fans will “have to have” the album, particularly for the clarity of the recording during the Classic Quartet period. Thom Jurek of AllMusic gave the album 3.5 out of 5 and stated:”While completely enjoyable, Blue World’s true value perhaps lies in revealing the quartet encountering this older material with a fully developed musical character, and changing its shapes, accents, colors, and textures according to its own expressive signature. These versions differ (often significantly) from previously issued ones, making Blue World a necessary addendum to the recognized historical record to be sure. But just as importantly, it adds another very satisfying entry to the music libraries of Coltrane’s legions of fans.”

Giant Steps (1960) by John Coltrane
Landmark jazz album that revolutionized improvisation with its complex harmonic structure and rapid chord changes. The title track showcases Coltrane’s legendary technique, introducing the now-famous "Coltrane changes" that challenged and inspired generations of musicians. Tracks like Naima add a lyrical, emotional depth, balancing technical brilliance with soulful expression. A must-listen for any jazz enthusiast, this album cemented Coltrane’s status as one of the greatest saxophonists of all time.
I'll probably keep making pixel arts of album covers, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know. If you're going to use my content or upload it to other sites, please let me know.

I picked up this 1959 mono copy of Miles Davis’ “Jazz Track” the other day and bought it right off the turntable at a shop where it was playing. I had instantly fallen in love with the first track on side two, “On Green Dolphin Street,” which finds him trading off solos with John Coltrane. Like all infatuations in life, however, that flush of excitement made me overlook a major flaw—namely the massive piece of old-school masking tape on the cover. I spent a good 20 minutes at home anxiously peeling it off with the aid of a hair dryer set on “incinerate” so that it would melt and reactive the long-dried glue underneath the tape. It worked, but the process was nerve wracking!
