Oh gosh, I have multiple. The one that comes to mind immediately is “Turning Tables” by Adele. I think I’ve experience a lot of pain from relationships, especially romantic, but also platonic/familial. I’ve put up walls and try to push people away. This part is where I always burst into tears:

It just...... hits me way deep? The way she sings it, fighting for strength, defiant, pained, and then it softly slopes into quiet.... The feels man.

pearls: what’s something about your personality that surprises others?

I think that I am really soft and nurturing and warm, but I guess that doesn’t always come off at first? I get told that I am hard to read, hard to reach, and that I am intimidating. We do repetitions/raw moments in class, and I get “intimidating” all the time. At first is really offended me (I am sweet and spicy, okay!!), but I learned to take it as a compliment, especially as an actor because being intimidated by my art/skill means I’m someone to be admired and I like that.

But people think I’m intimidating just as a person, too! I think I have so many walls up that it’s a surprise that I’m just a gooey squishy bean yearning for love on the inside.

roses: If it had to be winter, autumn, spring or summer for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

Okay so Southern California has three seasons (which you know!): Cool, Rainy/Sunny/Rainy Lottery, and Really Really Hot. I would want it to be Cool for the rest of my life (basically how the weather is from like.... late November to March). I love rain so much but I love being cool even more.

For aesthetic purposes, Autumn, every day, no questions asked. Sadly I have only ever witnessed Autumn once.
