🌾 Describe your OC through the eyes of someone absolutely head-over-heels in love with them
Oh my gosh okay. Alex sees him as so perfectly confident and able to do anything. I think he's always seen him like that, honestly! When they were friends as kids, Mal was always the one to be emotionally strong and who would face any challenge head-on. To some extent he is still like that, but a lifetime of abuse has made him much more skittish than he used to be, and also some of his experiences have made him hate his body, so he is eager to hide himself. To Alex though, he is just this pinnacle of easy confidence. 🥺 There's so much stuff that Alex wants to do, but he gets in his head while Mal can just jump right in. It made him feel so inferior at first, but now it just makes him that much more in love with him.
On the note of his body too, I think even though they're so opposite in their physiques, Alex really enjoys Mallory's body a lot. He's not only so tall, but he has a sturdy frame even if there's not much meat to him. I imagine as an athlete, Alex probably can appreciate bone structure, and he sometimes talks about Mal building up muscle too although it's not something he pushes him on. His legs are so long and perfectly made for dancing, which of course, in Alex's eyes he's the best dancer in the world. His wrists and knuckles are bony and shapely, his fingertips rough from farm work (he thinks about his hands a lot. Like a lot!!! 😳) His smile and voice are familiar to what Alex remembers from childhood, but now more matured and with a rich tenor voice.
It's all striking though because Mal isn't perfect, and Alex is someone who is very quick to point out his own flaws and give himself a hard time for his perceived imperfections, while he finds beauty and merit in everything about Mal. Even if Mal himself is insecure about some of those things!! It's like, Alex holds him to a different standard and even though they are now adults and equal partners, he still looks up to Mallory in some ways as what he should strive to be as a man. Even if Mal's version of manhood and masculinity is so different from everything Alex has been trying to shape himself into all his life!!

💐 How does your OC handle being unwell or forced to rest in bed? Who cares for them and in what ways? Does your OC enjoy being doted on or are they a terrible patient? Reversed: is your OC good at taking care of others who are ill or in need?
I think he's someone who is pretty self-sufficient so he would be the type to be like "no, I'm fine, don't worry about it" while hacking up a lung lmao. He is very much a caretaker though, there's a few chapters where Alex is in a bad way (either sick or just like. Going Through It) and he just instantly dives in to take care of him. I think if Mal ever got so sick he couldn't do anything, he would be in good hands with Alex too, but he'd probably be fighting him along the way trying to take care of himself 😂
🥀 How would your OC decorate a notebook or journal? What kind of things are written in there? Could you give an example of a nice entry?
I think he would probably put pressed flowers and photos in a journal, just little keepsakes to remind him of good things and good people! He never kept a journal, but he did used to write letters to Alex that he wrote as if they were journal entries! Much as he tried to stay strong for him when they were together as kids (and even as adults tbh), he would actually express just how bad he was doing if it was in writing. Poor Alex on the other end of it, would read them and have no idea how to respond, but he was so sad for his friend 😭
I think probably if he kept a journal now, he would write about things he wanted to remember, like things he did with his friends or things he saw that he thought were beautiful. I think he would also write out his thoughts toward his grandparents, even though they would never be able to read his words.
