Attention @johnshopkinsuniversity incoming freshmen!!! 

Are you a lifelong bibliophile, eager to delve into university collections? Do you get an adrenaline rush from the smell of old books?? Or do you simply want to gain research experience and work with fantabulously cool, real-life professional librarians??? Then keep reading! 

This fall, we’ll be taking on four members of the Class of 2020 as Freshman Fellows--join our cohort and you’ll be able to work on your own research project using materials from our collections, with the mentorship of our experienced and wacky staff! Fellows will be paid a stipend of $1000 and produce a final project of their choosing in the spring semester.

Oh my goodness hiiiii!!! So excited to have you baby jay 💕🐦 I could go on and on about Hopkins forever but here’s a few things I can think of off the top of my head:

1. Use covered grades wisely 2. Make sure to go out and explore the neighborhoods surrounding Hop3. Don’t take the FFC for granted 4. Get involved in at least one club/organization/research/work 5. Don’t be afraid to go to professors or TAs for help6. Get out of your room! Seriously the library is a great place to meet or hang out with people 7. Even if you don’t think Greek life is for you, at least register and go through recruitment. You can always drop. 8. Challenge yourself to begin each conversation with something positive (this sounds weird until you get to campus)9. Take too many pictures of Gilman #sorrynotsorry10. Befriend upperclassmen11. Go to as many sporting events as possible, we could always use bigger crowds12. Make sure to balance academics and social life!! 13. Free programming (food/shirts/events) is your best friend 14. Find a study spot that only you know about 15. Stay for at least one intersession16. Just don’t don’t DONT take Hop for granted, it’s the most incredible and humbling experience in the world if you don’t let it get the best of you
