Fic idea - Jet kidnaps Izumi... by accident.
Jet survives, but even years after the war has ended he still doesn't trust the Fire Nation one bit, no sir. In the end he decides to say fuck it. Time to see this Fire Lord guy for himself and possibly assasinate him.
He's heard rumors about an upcoming royal visit to the Earth Kingdom and it seems like the perfect oppurtunity to scope out the situation, so he does.
And he gets close, very close actually, to getting to the Fire Lord. He's sitting on the roof of a private residence that is closed off to the public. He knows that the Fire Lord is in there somewhere, he just has to be patient.
While he's lying in wait someone comes out into the courtyard and Jet is fully prepared to attack, but is that... a baby? Why is there a baby here? And the baby (more like toddler really) is toodling closer and closer to the pond in the middle of the courtyard.
Surely someone must be coming for her, right? Jet watches with growing horror as the toddler catches sight of a turtleduck and starts movin way too fast for comfort.
Where the fuck are her irresponsible parents?!
Shit, he can't just watch an innocent toddler drown. Fire baby or not. So he scoops down really quick and gets her. She lets out a small squeak, but Jet is good with babies and bounces her just right to keep her quiet, while she(?) watches him with big golden eyes.
That's of course when all hell breaks loose and things turns sideways. Suddenly loud noises can be heard from inside the home.
"There's an attack!"
"Guards, guards! At the north gate!"
"Assasins, get the antidotes!"
What. the. fuck. Someone else tried to assasinate the Fire Lord while Jet was lying in wait to do the same thing? This guy must be really unpopular. Said assasins try to escape through the courtyard, and that's when Jet decides to get out of there.
Assasinating the Fire Lord can wait until another day when some stupid poorly planned assasination attempt from someone else isn't screwing up his plans.
So Jet runs, with a toddler under one arm, giggling from being bounced up and down and luckily oblivious to the current crisis.
