🏞️🇮🇩 Well That Was Unexpected by Jesse Q. Sutanto Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jesse Q. Sutanto has been one of my favorite authors since I first read “Dial A for Aunties”. This book did not disappoint especially in making me laugh and gush over Sharlot and George. I related to Sharlot when going to visit where your family is and feeling out of place. Plus dealing with how people view you as not being “insert county” enough cause you were born there or grew up there. Sharlot’s relationship with her mom had me reflecting on my teen self’s relationship with my mom and related to their ups and downs. Over all it’s a cute book that’s makes for a cute and funny YA book. Well, That Was Unexpected, by @jesseqsutanto, is a hilarious double-catfish, fake-dating, YA romcom, with a side of nosy relatives and delicious Indonesian food. Please for the love of humanity don't buy, read or support this book. The book ends with the main character murdering her boyfriend and faced no Consequences. This is disgusting it's deplorable to me and the author needs to be held accountable for this!

I found the romance the least interesting part (unsurprising, I’m not really the target reader there) but the accidental murder shenanigans and fallout had me legitimately laughing out loud so many times during this book.
