winning a lot but never a slam (even though they made two semis and a final together)

making wta finals 2022 in singles and doubles and going 0-9 across disciplines

coco winning her first doubles slam without her at rg (where they finaled)

jess playing less with coco to focus on singles and making her first slam final

trying again at wimbledon and both crashing out first round in singles

and how about jess winning the ‘credit one charleston open’ this year to become the american #1, surpassing coco, with the tournament’s acronym in the background? i mean come on.

also their rivalry is so messy like coco could barely win against her until recently, and obviously we saw in riyadh that it’s not at ALL surefire. they play weird matches. remember in berlin when jess had to play twice in one day, beating coco in the semis and eventually winning her first grass title?

and ofc coco’s win last year versus jess in the wta finals group stage was one of the initial two seemingly impossible group stage match wins that lead to coco winning the title

and then repeating it this year after such a recent match in wuhan, but with the opposite result!!
