Like to think that they met sometime after NGC and TFTGS volume 1. And for my sanity Zachary lives in the town or some town close to the town where TFTGS is in. Zachary probably went to the gas station once or twice to get something for the road and that's when he met Jerry, wearing a funny shirt and probably smoking a joint. And that's probably when they have a random dialogue together about games or something along those lines. Zachary would probably be at least SUPER suspicious of Jerry while Jerry is just being Jerry and probably slowly beginning to have a crush on Zach.
I'm not sure how they're going to get together but their dynamic would probably be them being friends and showing each new things before slowly falling for each other. Basic awww romance stuff but still.
