What would be their favorite autumn activity to do together?
I think the food would be their favorite. Specifically baking. They would love to be in the kitchen together baking apple pies and pumpkin pies and making hot apple cider and roasted pumpkin seeds (because James made a jack-o-lantern and saved the seeds). They would bake cookies in the shapes of ghosts and bats and leaves and pumpkins.
They would have all those cute moments with flour on their noses and dancing in the kitchen. And they would love it because the whole house would smell like cinnamon and pumpkin. And they would curl up on the couch with a slice of pumpkin pie and a mug of hot cider and watch the Charlie Brown Halloween movie.
been having really specific thoughts today about airport Starbucks have yall ever experienced one of those they’re always staffed by the fastest most efficient group of employees I’ve ever seen in my life and god love em for working at the Starbucks in O’Hare at 8 AM on a Sunday when the line is like 20 people deep and growing.
anyways then I realized I could probably make it about fictional characters in my head. imagine James traveling for work always going through the same major hub, sure let’s say O’Hare, and it seems like every time hes there he goes to the same Starbucks and sees the same person behind the bar and he’s a goddamn machine. He’s dead fuckin silent except for when he’s calling names and he’s churning out drinks at record speed. they’re always made well too he’s not sacrificing quality for time. but he rarely looks up so James always finds himself looking for a head of black curls every time he goes to the same Starbucks in the B gates hoping that it’ll be him making the coffee. as soon as the drinks hits the pickup counter James is there trying desperately to make eye contact and make some little quip or small talk but the guy is always gone before he can get anything out.
MEANWHILE regulus is working at an airport bc he left home and he’s estranged from his brother so it’ll have to do for now until he figures out what tf he’s doing. Moved to the south side from the north suburbs, has 3 roommates. he learns to recognize names/faces from people who always travel through the same hub on a regular basis and James is his favorite name to hear bc he’s fuckin pretty and regulus can feel him watch him make drinks but he doesn’t have time to do anything about it because he really needs this job, needs to not get fired. So he just dedicates himself to making sure he’s the one to pick up James’ order every time and makes sure it’s the best goddamn coffee he’s had in his life.

I kind of love this idea. I like seeing different characteristics in them and I think this would be a great mix of some of the things we generally associate with them, but adding different layers to it.
It’d be interesting to see Reg being the one to soften James’ rough edges.
Also, I have been mesmerized by that Timothee gif and I want to keep him in my pocket forever.

thinking about jegulus and enchanted because when they met, they were both wary of each other, the only common thing btw them was sirius right? and he was also the reason they had to hate each other. but deep down they didn't. and why was that? they didn't know that until later on their friendship. and what after became a relationship. james and regulus had no reason to come closer, they had no reason to care for each other for they were two completely opposite sides.
when has love ever given a good reason to bring two people together?
it was simply the course of life. they didn't control it, they just got pulled by destiny. fate. there was no regulus without james and there was no james without regulus. and because of that, they were enchanted to meet each other. water and fire. yin and yang. yet, they connected like no other.
and in regulus' deathbed, in his last breath as he drowned while being pushed down by the inferi. his only thought was james. james. james james.

1. Why don’t you ship it?
Besides shipping Jily through and through, I've seen devoted supporters' posts (too frequently on the Jily tag, *sigh*) and the way it's seen as a canon ship, when there isn't a single mention of interaction between them, just makes me dislike on principle.
2. What would have made you like it?
Probably if there was any interaction, any mention at all of how (something like Sirius claiming James was his only brother - oh, the drama - or discussing them playing Quidditch against each other).
3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
The dynamic of "he's my best friend's brother" could be fun :)
