The sun is burning hot in the sky. A flock of Sea Doves glides through the clear air. 

The Murky Sea, in the Crooked Cane Field. A slime crab is taking in the sun, a nice change of pace from the dark green waters below.

A small wooden lifeboat, the Chestnut is gently floating through the field. Inside, we see some familiar faces.

It’s Bung and the gang, still in the boat they used to flee the dreadful attack of Captain Horace. Even the Emerald Lizards, who snuck on board on the Floating Convenience Store, made it.

Jeffward and Sinclair are playing cards, the last deck they managed to swipe from the burning Treebark. Sinclair is winning. Jeffward can’t tell, but her twitching tail gives away that she has a good hand.

With a sigh, Bung leans over the edge of the boat. Days of drifting on the open sea have left him hungry, thirsty, and weak.

But what he spots now, he simply can’t believe.

It’s land! They will finally be saved!

“Full speed ahead”, Bung yells out. 

After weeks out at sea, the Chestnut is washed ashore.

Bung is about to cry. They finally made it. Sinclair helps Jeffward out of the boat.

Quickly, Bung walks up the nearby hill to take a look at their surroundings. In the distance, large towers stretch out into the sky, and massive mountain formations seem to cover the landscape. “We can make this work!”

Gleefully, Jeffward throws sand around.

Sinclair is suddenly overcome with self doubt, and she carefully begins voicing her concerns. “Hey guys, I know you only took me in because you had no other choice, and if you want me to leave now I totally understand.”

Bung kneels down in front of her. “Are you kidding? After what we’ve been through? We’re basically family now, there’s no way we would leave you behind!”

Sinclair is still unsure. “Are you sure? I never... had any friends like you guys, the Captain didn’t like it.”

“Well, the Captain isn’t here, now is he?” Bung still reaches out to her with his paw. Jeffward chimes in. “Yeah, come with us, we love you!” Sinclair is close to tears.  And so, she rushes over and gives Bung a hug.

“Hey!”

“What are you guys doing on my beach?”

Nobody knows what to say. Finally, Bung speaks up. “Uh, we’re kinda having a moment here. Besides that, I don’t see your name on it.”

“Can’t you read? It says Glunk’s Beach, right there! Now get off my property!”

“Listen dude, we didn’t mean to intrude on your property, but Captain Horace and his mice burned our boat down, and we had to land on your beach, otherwise we would’ve starved out there.”

Glunk sighs. “So another batch of pirate refugees, eh?”

“Fine, fine. Come along, You can stay for the night, but you gotta leave in the morning.” 

Without hesitation, Bung, Jeffward, and Sinclair follow the helpful Glunk. Their own journey has just begun, and they will face many unknown dangers, but for now, they are safe.

I should be drawing storyboards and going to bed, instead, I’m drawing fanart for @mysteryseeker‘s cyoa at 3 in the fricking morning. @_@
