while looking at gorgeous gifsets, a question popped up in my brain i'm hoping you might be able to answer as the costume meta guru: when did eddie start wearing his brown strap-blue face watch? was it a specific episode? thanks so much if you can recall!

I can indeed answer this question for you and I’m flattered to be though of as the costume meta guru 😂🥰
So Eddie first wears the brown leather strap watch with the blue face at the end of 4x06 Jinx, when he meets Ana for breakfast. I always found it highly entertaining that this was the first time we see that watch appear and get the division between work watch and civvies watch Since Eddie begins Eddie has only been seen in civvies 6 times - in 3x16 when he’s wearing his season 3 black watch (in the scene when he invited Buck to help with Christophers sleep over) then in 3x18 - at Mays graduation party, then seeing Chris off to summer camp - both times in his season 3 black watch.
Then with season 4 he has 3 scenes out of uniform a video chat with Carla in 4x02 - the red string of fate conversation, and then in 4x03 - at the Diaz house when Buck and Chris are playing video games and then when they prank him with the hildy coffee maker. In all 3 of these scenes Eddie isn’t wearing a watch. Then I’m the next one - breakfast with Ana - he’s put this new watch on - which as the rest of s4 and s5 progress, we see it’s very closely tied to Christopher especially, but also to Buck - and ties in with the will change!!
