Now, I know this might be a boring subject for some people, but give this episode a try. We do our best to examine the subject from angles that aren't typical. Plus we throw a lot of humor into the mix :)
Ahsoka and Anakin's Jedi interceptors in Lego form.
Two lego ship designs decades apart
Original 2002 Delta 7 Aethersprite Starfighter next to latest 2022 version
Plus Original 2005 Eta 2 Actis Interceptor next to 2015 version (latest version of Obi-wan's but not overall, base design is near identical to 2025 release though)
I only had the original Anakin interceptor as Obi-wan's was exclusive to a big bundle set, but I did have the 2005 Obi-wan so included him for comparison too.
Ironically I'd say in terms of shape the 2002 Starfighter matches the on screen model best, from above at least, with a longer nose. It also had a novel means of holding the minifig lightsaber, putting both pieces behind the head rest, as opposed to the modern means which is usually a clip on the bottom of the ship.
Equally, while the 2015 Interceptor has the meatier build and can actually hold a full astromech, the cockpit is non existent under the canopy, just a vague square for Obi-wan to sit, while 2005 had an (admittedly inaccurate) joystick, and side control panels.
That being said the newer versions are both sturdier and feel less fragile to play with for sure.

The Jedi Interceptor and the Jedi Ambassador Shuttle as dragons! Spots of red in both of these, and I added feathers on the shuttle dragon to alude to Ahsoka and the convor bird that watches over her.

The Jedi Interceptor, more formerly known as the Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor, manufactured by Kuat Systems Engineering was a highly maneuverable starfighter that saw heavy action in the latter days of the Clone Wars. It was faster and more agile than the earlier Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor. However, like the Delta-7 it lacked itβs own hyperdrive system, relying on an external transport ring to reach hyperspace.
