And now I'm just imagining Geralt with increasingly bizarre mutations while the mages/witchers look at him like. Well. That wasn't supposed to happen.

For sure! I think with anything that's Too Strange/Different the instructors first objective would be to get him used to them and from there they'd be like, ok how do we incorporate this into a fight. All trial and error stuff at first, i imagine, as they all learn the potential and limitations of geralt's abilities. And as Geralt learns to work with them, even though it's clunky at first, the novelty still gives him an advantage over other witchers. And as the witchers learn how to use them against him he also learns to use them better! good training for everyone involved I'd think.

oh fuck ok imagine if he has like. and im going full fantasy hand-wavy science here deal with me. but what if some of his cells react to those of monsters nearby and he acquires similar traits, just for as long as he's near them. so he gets some of the abilities of the monsters he's fighting! like a ditto power, except he doesn't fully transform.

he gets spikes on his back against alghouls, his skin turns to rock near trolls, horns and tail near succubi, fangs and patches of fur against werewolves, scales and acid spit against draconids, etc.
