Something just occurred to me. Yet another thing that makes Java Jiterati (name I've coined for those who ship both Java Junkie and Literati) so amazingly right. I've seen a lot of people focus on the fact that this makes Jess and Rory cousins (Which...by the way...I have step cousins...ones that I acquired because my uncle married their mother when they and I were already adults. It's a totally different dynamic. I have to remind myself that we're technically related. So...yeah...that wouldn't be gross.), but it wasn't until just now that I realized I'd missed (HOW? HOW???) an important relationship that this creates. I'd long realized that if Luke married Lorelai, it would make him Rory's step-father...so he could finally, officially be the dad he always had been to her. But, it just hit me *and made me gulp back a sob* that if Luke married Lorelai, and Jess married Rory...Luke would finally, OFFICIALLY, legally...be Jess' dad -- his father "In Law." That is so many shades of beautiful!
