still cant stop thinking about jason giving nico piggyback rides after a long grueling day of demigodding....
[so.. im just gonna take this as a prompt âcause i think thatâs what you meant?]
âThis is ridiculous.â
Jason chuckled. âCome on, Nico, itâs not that bad.â
âI donât needââ, he felt him squirm. âJason!â
âItâs not like anybody is watching us.â
He felt himself blush. âItâs not about that.â
The son of Jupiter blinked. âItâs not?â
âNo! Iâm notâ fourteen anymore, I donât get embarrased about that kind of thing.â
âYou know, two years isnât that much of a difference.â
âJasonââ, he felt slender fingers tugging his hair sharply and he yelped.
âOkay, okay, I take it back.â
He sighed and warm breath tickled his neck. âYou really donât have to do this.â
Jason held in the shiver that came over him with every word that Nicoâs lips brushed against his skin.
âBut I want toâ, he stood up straighter, effectively rattling the boy on his back. âAnd donât mope on my back.â
He felt him tense. âWhoâs moping?â
âYou. Donât try to cover it up, I can tell.â
âYou canât even see my face.â
âBut your voice dropped like an octave lower. That was definitely âmoping Nicoâs tone.â
âYou have a catalog of my inflections?â
He felt his cheeks heating up. âWhat? No.â
He kept walking. He was pretty sure that if his arms werenât drapped over his collarbone that Nico would be crossing them over his chest right now.
âMaybe. Just a tiny one.â
The son of Hades muffled his laughter against his shoulder. Jason felt a bit feverish.
âYouâre such a weirdo.â
âYep, thatâs me, weird, mess of a demigod, Jason Grace.â
âYou forgot âa complete dorkâ, too.â
âI should wear it in a name tag.â
Nicoâs fingers intertwined over his breast bone. âNo, I think discovering it is part of your charm.â
His grin was audible in his tone, it seemed to elongate his syllables. âMy charm?â
âYesâ, Jason could already see the pine tree that used to be his sister. âShut up.â
He chuckled but complied. His steps turned sluggish with the increasing steep of the hill.
âYou donât have to carry me to my cabin, you know?â
âWould you get mad if I wanted to?â
He felt him swallow. âProbably, but because of the wrong reasons.â
Jason sighed. âNico?â
âIâm really tiredâ, he tightened his grip on the lanky legs that dangles almost at the height of his waist. âWould you hate it if I asked you to take a nap with you?â
He felt him stiffen. âLâLike in the same bedâ?â
âI could say I just want to because no one never ever bothers you in your cabin and so weâd be able to sleep as much as we want to.â
How much of a coward he was, taking advantage of the fact that Nico couldnât see his face to say these things?
âBut the truth is Iâm exhausted and I donât want to let you go just yetâ, he bit his lip. âCould I ask you to feed my selfishness and let me stay with you?â
âYour selfishness?â, Nico huffed and it sent chills down his spine. âI donât know which one will kill me first, that or your kindness.â
A warm cheek rested against his neck. âI wouldnât hate it if you asked.â
Jason forced his heart down his throat. âOkay then.â
