Posted the Jaroden fic that was due for my birthday I mentioned I would post!

Summary: Jaron and Roden nearly get drowned and end up on an island while on a journey on a ship but Jaron doesn't wake up. Recalling Tobias's words to face such a situation Roden does something he feels Jaron won't like when he is awake. (One-shot fic)

Jaron opened his eyes and blinked slowly. His voice sounded hoarse. “Did… you just?... Nevermind.”

After some time Jaron sat up on his elbows and put his hand to his lips, then added. “Tell me you didn’t just do what I think you did.” 

Roden leaned back, dripping and shivering as he smiled at him. “You’re still alive, aren’t you?”

That wasn’t exactly an answer, as Roden didn't deny it. And his refusal to meet Jaron's eyes spoke plenty to him. Jaron groaned, then dropped his head back against the sand. “I knew Tobias’s medical lectures would be dangerous someday.”

“Dangerous?” Roden said incredulously. “It just saved your life! I just dragged you back to life from death and you’re making jokes, now?”

Would you rather I thanked you?” Jaron croaked.

“Yes!”

“Fine.” Jaron closed his eyes, exhaustion creeping through every limb. “Thank you. Now, if I die of embarrassment instead, then that’s on you.
