THE PRINCESS OF THIS FAIRYTALE IS ⋆ Serenity Ophelia-Ericsdotter ⟢ Princess of Atlantica and Cerulean
Once upon a time—on the 7th cycle of the 7th moon—a daughter was born to a sea-born princess and a human king. Half mer-half human, and like the ocean that cradled her mother’s past, she was beautiful, vast, and deeper than anyone realized.
The firstborn of Princess Ariel and Prince Eric, Serenity-Ophelia came into the world not with a cry, but with a song—one so soft and spectral that the sea itself stilled to listen. She was named for the calm that followed her birth and the old shipwrecked tragedy of Ophelia, a name her mother whispered with sorrowful reverence. And though she was bathed in sunlight and crowned in coral, Serenity was born into a kingdom always divided: between land and sea, duty and desire, legend and legacy.
While her younger sister, Melody, could rebel and roam free, Serenity was shackled by expectation. She often watched the horizon and wondered where she truly belonged. Her heart carried the ache of every fairytale child born into legend—raised to honor a story she did not write, and could never escape. Endless entrapment.
She is calm, yes—but not cold. Graceful, but not shallow. In fact, Serenity feels everything too deeply: the weight of the crown, the ache of songs unsung, the guilt of dreams deferred. She keeps journals full of ocean poetry and secret lullabies, and sings not for others—but for the moon, the waves, and herself.
At age sixteen, a letter arrived from a swan, its seal shimmering with gold and dried ink. The School for Good had summoned her—For all the world, it made sense. She was elegant. Kind. Beautiful. A princess in every sense. The perfect candidate for Good.
But Serenity knew better.
Goodness, true goodness, isn't always soft. It’s forged in choices, not crowns. And deep down, she feared she was only Good because she was expected to be. She feared she'd been cast in her mother’s tale like a second act—just another beautiful daughter waiting for a prince, fall in love and live happily ever after.
So when she arose from the gardens like blossoming sea anemones she carried more than trunks of silk and sea pearls. She carried questions. Hope to discover; to become. Songs no one else had ever heard.
