Jae also hadn't intended to bring people home to the apartment they shared with their younger siblings, but it was close and, this bears repeating: Jerry was hot. Anyway, Lee was out on a date and Kim was still at the club, and they all had their own rooms, and if you couldn't fuck a random hot dude in your own home, was it even really your home?

Jae didn't like to think of themself as shallow, but on the other hand, what other metric was there to judge a hookup by? The options were how hot they were and how hot they made you feel, and Jerry's lazy smile made Jae feel pretty damn hot themself.

Jerry apologized when he pulled Jae's hair while they sucked him off, and that was endearing, actually. So Jae grinned and told him they didn't mind it a little rough, and Jerry hauled them up to kiss them again.

This is a lot of set up to get to the point of the opening action, but that was why, while Jae clutched their pillow and yelled as Jerry went to town on their ass, they didn't think anything of Jerry biting their shoulder. Well, that, and the fact that they were busy coming, and weren't doing a lot of thinking, but it's why they didn't think anything of it once they were thinking again.

At least, until they realized there was blood on their pillow.

"Uh, hang on, Jer," Jae said. "I think you broke the skin." Which was weird, because their shoulder didn't hurt that bad, but it wasn't like they had a bloody nose. Maybe Jerry did?

Jerry groaned and pulled back. "Oh, shit," he said, and Jae sighed. They had been hoping to bask in the afterglow for a little bit, but apparently they had to do wound care instead. This, they told themself, was what happened when you hooked up with some random cis dude and told him you didn't mind it rough.

Jae rolled over, away from the blood so the bleeding shoulder wouldn't get smashed into more of their bedding, and grimaced as they swung their leg around Jerry. They were going to be so sore tomorrow.

Then they realized what they were seeing, and said, "What the fuck is wrong with your teeth?"

Jerry wrinkled his nose. "Uh, it's not what it looks like?" he said.

"I'm not sure what else it could be," Jae said, because was there another plausible explanation beyond "this dude was just snacking on my shoulder"? Literally what other explanation was there?

Jerry sighed, and muttered, "Early is going to kill me. Uh, I'm a vampire."

Jae stared at him. That would explain the teeth the way the "I brought home a fucking serial killer" wouldn't, they supposed. "A vampire," they said. "Jesus, Jerry, shouldn't you have said something before you tore a chunk out of my shoulder?"

"I didn't! It's not even bleeding anymore, it's fine!" Jerry protested. Jae glanced at their shoulder. They couldn't see it very well, but it did look small and fairly clean. He looked down at his knees. "I mean, I should have said something. I mean, if I--I wasn't planning on biting you, okay, you just smelled so good!"

"Thanks?" Jae said. They poked at their shoulder. It wasn't really any more tender than if someone had left a hickey, and it didn't look even that bad. "Do I need to worry about this, then? Like, I'm not gonna turn into a vampire, am I?"

"Oh, no, that's really hard to do on accident," Jerry said. "And you don't have to worry about it getting infected or anything. It should heal pretty fast."

"Okay," Jae said. They looked back at him. He looked embarrassed, and now he was blushing. He hadn't blushed when he was embarrassed before. He was trying to surreptitiously lick the blood off the corner of his mouth. Jae sat up, pulled the pillowcase off the pillow, and tossed it toward their laundry hamper. It didn't make it, but it was better than letting it soak into the pillow. They grabbed the baby wipes out of their bedside drawer and wiped up all the come and lube they were covered in. After they tossed that wipe, they grabbed another one and wiped at their eyes. Probably most of their makeup had already come off on the pillow, or been sweated off, but better safe than sorry.

"You're taking this really well," Jerry said.

"Oh? And how'd you take it?" Jae asked. Oh, they'd let Kim do their eyebrows before they went out, they remembered, and scrubbed at those. The hair hung onto makeup better than plain skin, and they made sure to do a couple passes.

"Well, I was attacked by a feral vamp, so, uh, kind of a different situation," Jerry said. "I mean, screaming is pretty normal for any kind of attack."

Jae laughed. "Yeah, I think so," they said. "So what else is real? Obviously magic is at least kind of real or that infection thing would be kind of hard to explain."

"Um, magic," Jerry admitted. "Other monsters. I don't know what all, I only got turned a few months ago." He sighed again. "And I've told two people in three months now, and Early is never going to let me go out unsupervised again."
