Jackunzel Week 2016 Edition: Day 5 - Fate Drives Us Together 

Jackunzel OUAT AU: Jack meets the lost princess of Corona in her tower. They make a deal; that the frost guardian would take her to see the lights, while she helps him find his memories (all that he can remember is that his name was “Jackson Overland Frost”). It doesn’t work out for Jack in remembering his past life though, but when he’s in the middle of abandoning the girl, he realizes that she is like him. She has no idea on who she is and is trying to see these lanterns — she wouldn’t shut up about — when actually, it is connected to her real identity but she hasn’t put the pieces together yet. 

He lets her see them anyway. Rapunzel apologizes to him when she learns that he didn’t get his memories back or at least find the person who knew about his past, but he tells her not to worry. That in order for him to adjust with his new life as a winter spirit, is to forget about the past so that nothing won’t hold him back from living. And they part ways. Several years pass, and when Jack arrives in North’s place (after being “abducted” by the yetis) he meets Rapunzel. Now a guardian. Along with a girl with hair that resembled a wild fire, and a boy with one leg and a dragon.

“I almost believed that you’d come back” she said.
