This felt like a bad idea, going on a date with a stranger. Going on a date at all felt strange. She had never even dated before. All she’d ever had was sex, at most someone she'd fooled around with a few times. But it was Forest and he had seemed so excited about the idea that she could hardly say no. Her “date” outfit was hardly fancy, just a black dress, leather jacket, boots with a slight. It was nothing fancy but it was all she had. 

She hated to admit it, but she was nervous. Slowly, she looked over as someone came closer, sucking in a slow breath before venturing, “Jack Danvers?”

After all of the years they spent together, Milo knew both of their favorite drinks by heart. Finishing with them, he easily slid them across the counter before tossing his body onto the counter, pulling leg up. He figured they'd end up on the patio eventually but what was the harm of starting off on the counter?

"So, I want to know," he said slowly, "what kind of magic this town has to bring back blasts from the past." He raised an eyebrow at Jack with a light smirk on his face before leaning towards Forest. "Mostly I want to know if you've gotten laid yet."

Someone was home, Peter already knew as he came inside the apartment with Hopscotch at the end of his leash. He knelt down to unleash him, already chewing his lip with nervousness. He managed to keep it so that he and Jack weren’t alone in the apartment very often but he had messed up today, clearly. 

Was it always going to be like this? Was Ivy right? Was he not trying? Could he ever look at Jack and see a chance for a father, like Tate did with Milo? Could he have that? Or was he too broken by now? Everything about his life had changed again, and he knew that it was the fear of this that made it so hard for him to reach out to Jack. But how was he supposed to overcome that? Was it even possible? “Hey,” he said simply, walking into the living room. He forced himself to look at Jack, pausing when he saw the book in his hands. “Is that... Is that The Outsiders?”

Damien and Peter were walking down the street as Peter went off about some class he was taking. Damien didn’t usually zone out, but he saw a man on the corner of the street holding groceries that looked surprisingly... similar. The man looked like... Damien’s dad. He smacked Peter’s cheek, instantly shutting up the younger boy. It wasn’t strong or out of malice, just to get his attention. Peter looked at him expectantly and Damien pointed to the man that shared Peter’s big brown eyes. He couldn’t for the life of him remember his parents’ names, not even realizing his father had a different last name than ‘Cadoc.’ He turned to Peter. “What the fuck do we do? That’s dad. That’s our dad.” 

Landon slowly wandered into TriBeCa, almost awkwardly. He didn’t expect Jackson or Milo to be oblivious to what had happened with him and Forest, but he also wasn’t quite sure how to go about it. So when he saw Jack, he offered a small smile and cleared his throat, rubbing at his mouth with the back of his hand. “So, uh... Morning, Jack.”If Jack didn’t know, he was about to make this painfully awkward all on his own, that was becoming rapidly clear. But it had been a week or more and he figured that the odds of Forest not telling his friends was incredibly slim.

The thing was that she had no idea what to get a six-year-old. With the money in her pocket from her bet with Emira, Mal walked into TriBeCa, a shop that she was pretty sure was new? Or at least remodeled. “Hi,” she said politely to the man working. “Is there any chance you can help me pick something for a six-year-old? I’m a bit out of my range of experience.” Boy wasn’t that the truth. She had never thought she’d see her baby girl again, and had figured that if she did manage it, Eden would be an adult. She was, of course, thrilled to gain the extra years but had hardly allowed herself to think about it being a possibility through time.

“Here's what we're going to do,” Milo said the moment that he had let his best friend into the apartment. “I set up two whiteboards on the wall. We're gonna sit at this table. We are going to have beers and we are going to write down ideas to fix our sad dad problems. The good ones go on the boards. One board is for Tate and one board is for Peter. And we are not leaving until we have good ideas because you need your son and I need my daughter and they just might need us too. So.” 

He grabbed two beers from his fridge and set them down on the table, quickly opening both. “Okay, so Peter. He came into the shop a few times and I didn’t even think about this before but maybe I can help with that. He used to talk to me quite a bit. Books? Movies? The way to that kid’s heart.”

Things had gotten bad fast, but Peter had learned a long time ago how often that could happen. And it definitely seemed to happen in Lethe quite often. He looked up at Jack with a wide-eyed expression of a child, an expression that given the situation he didn’t think twice about at this moment in time. “What do we do?” he asked softly, backing up. He wasn’t sure what the spirit had meant, what was about to happen. But he was also pretty sure that he didn’t want to stick around for it.
