Musa: We saw something red moving in the sky before it descended into a blast. When it fell, people went to see what had happened.

[Writing] Nigeria’s gov’t says it provided the US with the intelligence for the attack aimed at alleged ISIL fighters in northwest Nigeria.

Nasiru: I as asleep when I heard the sound. It sounded like a car was going to crash then I heard a loud bang. So I stepped out, went to the scene alongside other people and we realised that it was an object that had fallen from the sky. It created a hollow where it fell, and the debris was burning. But luckily it didn’t fall in the town it was outside the town, in the bush. It didn’t destroy anything, and no life was lost.

[Writing] Authorities confirm the strike on Jabo did not cause casualties. The police barricaded the site on Friday.

Musa: A lot of people have picked up the debris and gone away with it. But the security personnel said they were not supposed to take anything away from the scene.
