Izunia withheld his brotherâs anger. He knew it. Ardyn in this state was familiar to him⌠he had seen it all those years ago, had fought him all those years ago, just like that. It was horrifying, yes, and deep within, Izunia had to admit that there was fear â but the fear stood behind pity. He pitied his brother. He felt sad for him. The gods had abandoned who had once been their Chosen, who had given it his all â and had received punishment in return. But everything Izunia had done, he also deemed right. âWhat I did, I would do again.â He spoke silently, looking at Ardyn in a calm manner, before he slowly knelt down and picked up the beads Ardyn had scattered everywhere. One after the other, laying them down in his open palm. âI did not do it to spite or hurt you, I did not do it to turn you into a Daemon⌠because you already were one. They had eaten away on you long before it showed. Who could know you better than I? I saw it, I felt it â and I knew you would be a danger toward others. A beast. Unleashed if nothing would have been done⌠of course I did not know how to handle this â it was hard. And maybe it was too cruel to you. But do not think I enjoyed even a second of it. You are my brother, Ardyn. You always were and will always be. Picking up the last bead Izunia looked up to Ardyn once more. âAnd I loved you as my brother.â
