5 REASONS TO STAY AT THE IVEY'S CHARLOTTE
This sponsored post is written in collaboration with The Ivey's Hotel. All opinions of the stay and my experience in the hotel are my own.
You want to go where everyone knows your name.
I'm not exactly what one would call a celebrity. Local or otherwise. For one thing, I'm not actually from Charlotte and for another, even though I live here, I'm not technically a Charlotte blogger other than the fact that my address includes the words.
From the moment we arrived at the Ivey's everyone was incredibly kind and the staff was totally on it. Like "Chick-fil-A my pleasure," on it. That reference may be lost on some of you guys, but just know that Chick-fil-A has amazing customer service. But this isn't a post about how great their Chicken strips are. The Ivey's is a luxury boutique hotel which means there aren't 5,000 rooms. So everybody knows your name. Period. Like literally, they remember your name the entire time.
1.Top Notch Customer Service
I travel a lot. Shocking, I know. therefore I stay at quite a few hotels. I don't remember the last time someone has walked me up to my room. Or showed me around the hotel. Somewhere along the way, I had forgotten that's the way it definitely should be when you're paying more than a couple of hundred dollars. I'm going to have to add that to my checklist and make a note to look for that now. Customer service has really gone downhill...EEK.
If it sounds like I'm gushing about this hotel, it's because well I am. In addition to being really pumped for my stay after a fantastic opening event I attended a few months back, it was J's birthday so I really wanted everything to go perfectly. More so than my usual obnoxious self. And I have to give them extra props, because they did not disappoint. I must have mentioned sometime in the past that I wanted to stay on a specific day because it was his birthday. The amazing marketing manager, Janal, must have made a note because shortly after we got checked in and received our luggage, we received a visitor. Bearing gifts. Bubbly, to be exact and a sweet handwritten card, welcoming us and wishing J a Happy Birthday. Adorable!
2.Location, Location, Location
They say location is everything and boy, is this in a good one! Located in the heart of Charlotte City Center, The Ivey's are hop, skip and a jump away from all of the major attractions that Charlotte has to offer. The energy of the city radiates through the streets and lends itself to an amazing experience. Consider a nighttime stroll through Uptown taking in the lights and colors. Visit the Blumenthal Theater across the street and take in a popular musical, walk to some of Charlotte's most famous eateries, stop and sit for a cup of coffee or go dancing at the Roxbury. The world is your oyster and it's all within walking distance.
3.High-Class Decor
Modern Parisian Lux is how I would describe the interior of the Ivey's. It's the true meaning of Boutique Hotel and there isn't another like it anywhere in the city of Charlotte. While other hotels boast an Old School Southern charm, the Iveys is robust with youthful colorful decadence. It embodies the perfect setting for a girls night out or bachelorette party and it's oh, so Instagrammable. The jewel-toned decor mixed with dazzling light fixtures and Versailles Palace inspired art installations makes the Ivey's the go to for Millennial Travelers and local young professionals. This ain't your grandma's hotel. Although, she might quite like it.
4. Delish Food Collaborations
When the Ivey's teamed up with 5Church as the go-to for in-room service and a sit-down dining experience I knew that they had their fingers on the pulse. If you're no stranger to Bravo's Top Chef, then you were as stunned by Chef Jamie Lynch's shocking elimination as we were in Charlotte, but we've considered them to have done us a favor. There's no way we were ready to lose one of the southeastern's brightest stars and we certainly weren't prepared for him to start sending those flavorful morsels up to our rooms to eat in bed. When you're not drooling over 5Churchs ever-changing tasting menu, you can enjoy wine and cheese hour in the library. Because we sophisticados take our drinks in the study while running our fingers over Oscar Wilde's and James Joyce's early hardbound works.
Not ready for a full meal? Snacks are provided by Dean and Deluca. The purveyor of fine foods and heroes of gourmet food baskets. In fact, I'm currently accepting payments in the form of Sunday Brunch Dean and Deluca baskets and monthly club gift cards. Inbox me for address information.
5. Luxurious Rooms and Suites
I would be remiss if I didn't talk about how comfortable and fabulous the rooms and suites are. Remodeled, timeless architecture, detailed molding and trim that meets exposed brick, and velvety interiors evoke supreme luxury in every room. Modern, chic rooms with high ceilings and expansive windows, pair with white marbles washrooms complete with garden tubs. The Ivey's is a boutique hotel dream with plush beds that I never want to wake up from.

This is a guilty pleasure album for me. I love Badfinger, and I genuinely love the music in this incarnation of the band, when they were still known as the Iveys. Isn’t this the same cover that was used for the official release. Well, almost. I changed one thing. What? Why? You tell me.
