Because you complimented my story I made a story dedicated for you. ^_^
Guys let's pray for him by the way. :P
"Joshua!" A girl in hear cute purple headband shouted.
A boy who was sitting on the see-saw alone waved back. Katherine is Joshua's friend ever since then. They just live next to each other. They dont have any other playmates besides each other. Even at school you cannot separate them both. Their parents even thought that they could be lovers when they grow up.
One afternoon Katherine saw Joshua crying alone under the slide.
"Hey what's the matter?" Katherine crawled under the slide and sat in front of Joshua.
"My mother told me my heart has a hole and I need to get surgery. Im scared." Joshua hugged Katherine.
For a couple of minutes, he just cried at her shoulder. Katherine held Joshua's shoulder and released a big sigh then smiled. She wiped Joshua's eyes. She reached for her pocket and unwrapped a band-aid.
"Im here for you." Katherine smiled again and then put the band-aid at Joshua's hand.
"What is this for?" Joshua is now wiping his tears by his other hand.
"Because my heart is at your hands. Im making sure it doesnt get a hole too."
Then both stood up and ran to Katherine's house and ate ice cream at the kitchen.
Days passed. Katherine now plays alone at the playground. She visits Joshua's house every now and then, only to find out they moved away.
Years have passed and Katherine never got news from her childhood friend. She went through high school, college and then moved to another city, got a job and got married.
One day she and her family returned to their old house for a vacation. She saw the house of her childhood friend, she was about to visit again but an unfamiliar face stopped her. Somebody already bought the house.
One afternoon, she brought her kids to the nearby playground where she used to play back then. While sitting at the bench, she saw a kid crying under the slide. She remembered her childhood friend. She went to the kid and asked the reason for crying.
"There you are." A guy lifted the crying kid.
Katherine stood up and smiled at the guy who was comforting the kid.
"You're new here?" Katherine asked to the guy.
"Uhh no. Shhhhhh don't cry, daddy's here."
"Im Katherine by the way we just live across the street."
The guy smiled and shook hands with Katherine.
She saw a band aid stuck at the guy's hand. The same band-aid she gave Joshua back then. Out of nowhere she hugged the guy.
"I thought you were gone." Katherine cried.
"I thought so too." Joshua hugged his friend tight.
Joshua explained that they migrated to another country for him to be able to get a surgery. He apologized for not being with Katherine all those years.
Before they parted ways that day, Joshua reached for a band-aid in his pocket and stuck it at Katherine's hands.
"What is this for?" Katherine asked.
"For all those years I have never been with you and had you worried. I want to cover those holes."
Love doesn't necessarily mean you have to be together. For those holes are created so we know distinct spaces to miss. To know what to fill-up inside of us.
