MIRENA IUD IS NOT EFFECTIVE AFTER 5 YEARS

if you are using it for cycle/symptom control

and it becomes less effective for birth control

all the doctors saying "oh it was approved for 8 years so you don't need to get it out it's fine" don't know what the fuck they're talking about

and it's fucking insane that i had to find that out by my goddamn self after i finally called bullshit on my doctors, googled it, and confirmed they're fucking liars via Mirena's own goddamn website

like i was skeptical the second i heard that ~fun fact~ when i asked about getting it out, b/c just from a practical standpoint how are you gonna tell me that something that is a finite size and (I assume) carefully constructed to give the proper dose of medication for a specific period of time is suddenly just as effective >1.5x as long as it was designed for?
