Having a rough start to your Monday¿? A bad day is just that, one day. A day, 24 hours… Somedays just aren’t it ya know, and even on my worst days in sobriety I remember it’s only 24 hours. Chances are I’ll be asleep for around 6-8 of those 24 hours, which only leaves 16-18 hours to cope. If I play my cards right I can typically make it to a meeting on a rough day, and I like to show up early and stay late. That takes out another 2-3 hours… That leaves me with 13 hours conscious and to my own devices. After that, I fill my time with small menial tasks. Laundry, eating, scrolling social media, phone calls to friends, and the obvious… work (usually). That’s a heck of a lot more manageable when even 24 hours seems like too much.
