The trio weaved through the paddock, the sound of tools clattering and fans shouting fading into the background. Jack shot Liam a wary glance, clearly skeptical about his forceful intervention. Meanwhile, Isack dug in his heels slightly, his reluctance clear despite the fact that he wasn’t really resisting.

“I’m just saying,” Jack began, his voice laced with amusement, “maybe you should let them sort this out on their own. They’re adults, Li.”

“Adults who are behaving like toddlers,” Liam muttered under his breath. “I’m not spending another second listening to this one whine about Esteban not texting him back or whatever nonsense started this.”

“It’s not nonsense!” Isack snapped, glaring at Liam. “And it’s not just about a text. Este doesn’t take me seriously. He thinks everything’s a joke.”

Jack raised an eyebrow. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“It means—” Isack started, but Liam interrupted again.

“It means we’re almost there, so save the drama for your boyfriend,” Liam said, rolling his eyes as he tugged Isack through the final corner toward the Haas garage.

When they arrived, the tension in the air seemed to heighten. Esteban was standing by his car, discussing tyre strategy with a few engineers. His dark eyes darted toward the commotion Liam was making as he burst into the garage, dragging a scowling Isack behind him.

“Uh, hi?” Esteban said, looking mildly confused as he pulled off his headset. “What’s going on?”

“Your boyfriend,” Liam began, shoving Isack forward like a reluctant school kid, “has been moping for hours, and I’m sick of it. Whatever this argument is, figure it the fuck out. Now.”

Esteban blinked, his confusion morphing into a soft smile as he looked at Isack. “Wait, you’re still mad about last night?”

Isack crossed his arms and looked away. “You told me you’d call this morning. You didn’t. Again.”

“Because I was in meetings all day,” Esteban said, stepping closer. “I texted you as soon as I was free, but you didn’t answer.”

“Because I was mad!” Isack shot back.

Jack leaned against the wall, arms crossed and an amused smile playing on his lips. “Are you hearing this?”

“Shut up,” Liam hissed, glaring at Jack before turning back to the couple.

As Liam and Jack walked away, the hum of the paddock began to fade behind them. Jack couldn’t suppress his grin as he glanced at Liam. “You know, you have a real talent for sticking your nose in other people’s business.”

Liam huffed, his fingers tightening slightly around Jack’s. “I only did it because Isack wouldn’t shut up about it. Besides, Esteban needed to be called out. Who forgets to call their boyfriend?”

“Not everyone’s as perfect as you,” Jack teased, bumping Liam’s shoulder.

“Damn right,” Liam quipped, though the faint blush dusting his cheeks gave away his embarrassment. “But seriously, they’re lucky I care.”

Back in the Haas garage, Isack and Esteban lingered near the car. The team had subtly dispersed, giving the couple a bit of privacy. Isack chewed his bottom lip, still processing Esteban’s apology.

“You know,” Isack muttered, glancing at Esteban, “Liam wasn’t wrong. I was sulking.”

Esteban chuckled softly, cupping Isack’s cheek. “It’s okay to sulk sometimes. You’re allowed to feel hurt. I just need to be better about making sure you don’t have to.”

Isack leaned into the touch, his earlier irritation replaced with warmth. “I just… I hate feeling like I’m not a priority.”

“You are,” Esteban said firmly, his voice leaving no room for doubt. “And if I ever make you feel otherwise, call me out on it, okay? You shouldn’t have to drag Liam into it.”

Isack laughed, the sound light and genuine. “No promises. He’s scary when he’s in his little ‘problem-solving mode.’”

“Fair point,” Esteban said, grinning down and the boy in front of him. “But I’d rather avoid getting ambushed in the garage next time.”

They shared a laugh, the last of the tension between them melting away. Esteban laced his fingers with Isack’s, pulling him close. “How about we grab dinner later? Just the two of us.”

“Only if you promise to leave your phone in your pocket,” Isack teased.

“Deal,” Esteban said with a soft kiss to his forehead.

Meanwhile, Liam and Jack reached the Kiwi's driver room, where Jack flopped onto a couch with an exaggerated sigh. “Crisis averted. Now, can we relax for five minutes without you playing relationship counselor?”

Liam smirked, leaning down to plant a quick kiss on Jack’s lips. “I don’t know. Someone has to keep the paddock from falling apart.”

Jack rolled his eyes but smiled. “Just don’t start charging people for advice, alright?”

Liam plopped down beside him, resting his head against Jack’s shoulder. “No promises.”

Jack chuckled, tilting his head so it rested against Liam’s. “You’re impossible, you know that?”

“Yeah, but you love me anyway,” Liam replied smugly, wrapping an arm around Jack’s waist and pulling him closer, kissing the — almost spiky — grown out hair by his ears.

Jack turned his head slightly, his lips brushing against Liam’s temple as he whispered, “I do. For some reason.”

Liam gasped, feigning offense. “Some reason? Excuse me, I’m a catch.”

“Oh, absolutely,” Jack teased, his eyes sparkling. “A total catch. You, with your need to fix everyone else’s drama and drag me along.”

“Admit it, you had fun,” Liam said, poking Jack’s side playfully. “You love being my side kick.”

Jack squirmed, laughing as he batted Liam’s hand away. “Maybe I do. But don’t let it go to your head.”

“Too late,” Liam said with a grin, leaning in to nuzzle his nose against Jack’s, their profiles sitting together perfectly.

Jack sighed contentedly, his fingers finding Liam’s hand and intertwining with it. “You know, you’re not all bad, Lawson. In fact, you’re kind of perfect.”

Liam’s cheeks flushed, his confident facade faltering for a moment. “Yeah, well… you make me feel like I can be. Perfect, I mean.”

Jack’s smile softened, and he cupped Liam’s cheek, his thumb brushing gently over his skin. “You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be you. That’s more than enough for me.”

Liam stared at him for a moment, his heart doing a little flip in his chest. “God, Jack, You’re such a sap,” he muttered, though his voice was thick with affection.

“And you love it,” Jack shot back, pulling Liam in for a kiss. It was soft and unhurried, a moment just for them amid the chaos of the paddock.

When they pulled apart, Liam rested his forehead against Jack’s, his lips quirking up in a small smile. “You’re my favorite person, you know that?”

“Even when I make fun of you?” Jack asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Especially then,” Liam said with a laugh. “Keeps me grounded, I forget I'm not the most amazing, sexy, talented person in the world sometimes.”

Jack smirked, giving Liam’s hand a squeeze. “Good. Someone has to keep your ego in check.”
