Eva Ibbotson's romances for older readers! Especially A Company of Swans (but watch out for the colonialism) and A Countess Below Stairs.

Mary Balogh's Survivors Club series is one of my favorites, I love Balogh in general but that series really exemplifies her at her best for me.

Olivia Waite's Feminine Pursuits series is lovely, but I am particularly fond of the first book, The Lady's Guide to Celestial Mechanics.

Courney Milan writes a joy of a historical! I've not read the third one because I'm rationing them out, but the Wedgeford Trials series has been a true delight for me so far, highly recommended.

Idk if goodreads gives you notifications about who gives stars to your books so I just wanted to make sure you saw that Martha Wells (of the Murderbot Diaries) gave a marvelous light 5 stars

OH SHIT. I have completely logged out of goodreads and am doing my damn best to pretend it doesn't exist, because reading my own reviews is generally a bad fucking idea for the ol' mental health, but it does mean that I miss out on glorious gems like this one.
