When i first came here, i saw alot of job adverts on the wall; ofcourse i knew they were fake but the audacity of it all, showed it was a place filled with possibilities but for a few, the kinda few moves that leaves dirt under ones nails; now the thing about that is that sooner or later habits makes you bite your nails and that means the dirt will get in. Nobody likes shit in thier mouth but not every brain is wired to spit shit out upon first taste, some tongues can't help but be curious before you know it, shit is digesting. See what i mean? That's how dizzying the city gets. Few years later i smiled at this big boulder in the concrete jungle, it smiled back and asked me how have been, keeping up i said, Keeping up with this crazy space. The rock stayed mute, the kinda mute that nudges you to say more. So i go on, did you know i changed my name for this? Got punches and jabs for this? But did you die? The boulder said. No i didn't. The worst i do is cry. And ain't too proud to tell you that i cry sometimes. Then i get up, adjust the crease on my short sleeve, put my heart back on my wrist, and get back to work. Reminding myself to always trust my nose before i trust my eyes, you can always smell the dirt before you see it. I watched this pair wander down aisles of Adelaide OzCon but never come near mine until finally on Sunday arvo they made my day :) The 6pm timeslot on ABC weeknights somehow kept a lot of us 80s kids sane... when The Doctor wasn't around... Monkey was! After all the Doctor is immortal and Monkey irrepressible! Between them, The Goodies and Kenny Everett, I was more prepared for life than anything the torturous childhood prison sentence of high school had to offer!
