Day 20
Our vacation in Thailand with two kids has been pretty good. We picked an area with very little tourism and beautiful nature which made it less stressful than if we stayed at a resort. Also We feel good that we rented a car -- it would have been less flexible and scary to use taxis or to do as Thai parents do, bring their kids in motorbikes without a helmet(!) We have loved swimming every day, and it was great to be able to have a massage almost every day. Our other expectations, which was to eat good food, was also met: we were able to try out different veggies and fruits, drink young coconuts and exploring new cooking techniques.
Today we staid at home until the afternoon, when we went to our favorite restaurant-by-the-beach, I-Talay. Leo and Irena had a swim, then Irena got a massage while I played with the kids on the beach. We enjoyed a great dinner while watching the sunset. Irena has tried several Tom Yum soups but the one tonight was by far the best. I have learned how to order green papaya salad to get the right level of spiciness (one chili). The kids fell asleep early.
