the way that jet encapsulates the opposite atla's themes is why he had to die - not being able to overcome the cycle of war, being blinded by his own pain, the inability to see nuance in contexts of good and evil. narratively, killing him was a logical choice. he represents the ways that those aspects in other characters are going to "die". katara not letting herself get consumed by the cycle of war like jet did, stepping away from her pain instead of killing yon rha. zuko recognizing his trauma and pain and being able to process it in a healthier way, confronting his father and making peace with himself. sokka realizing that no one's inherently good or bad, and learning to not box people into one or the other, and understanding that someone's bad decisions in the past don't mar them forever. jet is a perfect vessel for the worst attributes of many of atla's protagonists, and because of that, him living would be like allowing those attributes to live on in katara, sokka and zuko.

I love how gravity falls tries to overstep the censors in any way it can. Censorship can get ridiculous and gravity falls knows that kids can understand more than what the censors restrict them to, especially with the story's complexity
Agreed! Like I said earlier, it seriously respects how smart kids are, how creative and imaginative they are! They see past this stuff so fast- they may not fully comprehend but they get the general idea and that in itself is AMAZING.
Like, oh golly here I go gushing about my kids again, this one time I was at the elementary school for hours, right? And it’s a part of my job to talk to the students, get to know them! This one girl, a quarter my size and the poofiest hair I’ve ever seen. noticed how I drew GF in my sketch book and just LAUNCHED herself into talking mode. She was talking to me about theories I’ve never even HEARD of (Labem?? Like this second Mabel theory? I don’t remember all the details) and these kids are so passionate over it
They’re fully comprehensive of the bad shit that goes down in the show (despite all the kids shipping wen/dip and bill/dip- even one told me she really liked bill//ford? like kids woah those are some. those are some SHIPS) and they want to TALK about it- they want to know why X acts like Y, soon enough a group was gathering around me just in full discussion mode...
I think about these kids and see what’s on TV and just, I’m only praying more cartoons like this come out. Kids are so smart. They want to know, they want to understand and get a grasp on the story and the mystery. They fucking LOVE IT- they LOVE Bill and how wild he is, they wanted to know SOOO much about where he came from.
That’s why I respect GF SO much for trying so hard, for doing anything they could to push the against the censors, God, God what a blessing

Is it so surprising that my main paper is on vampires, death and female sexuality?
I love in how both of the fandoms I'm in right now we have Fandom Deities who know everything about everything related to the fandom and if you want news you go to them.
"Numerous documents attest to violent conflicts between merchants of madder (used to make red dye) and woad [used for blue], reflecting the economic stakes of changing fashions in color. In Thuringia madder merchants went so far as to ask glass makers to depict blue devils in stained-glass windows as a way of discrediting the new fashion for blue. Farther north, in Magdeburg, capital of the madder market for Germany and the Slavic countries, hell itself was painted blue in frescoes in order to associate the rival color with death and pain. But all this demonizing was for naught. Woad triumphed in the West, and as of the mid-thirteenth century red tones began giving way to blue in fabric and clothing, to the chagrin and great detriment of the madder merchants."
I'm reading a book about color history how's your night going
