Guilt has purpose. A reaction built into us that tries to ensure we don't repeat our mistakes, tries to ensure we do better. The capability feel guilt and to regret exists in us all for a reason. But it forms such a thin line, does it not?

A thin line between pushing us forward and dragging us down. Very thin. Too thin a line to try and navigate for all these long centuries, to try and stay on the correct side of, endlessly, to be distracted with when you can't afford distractions. Eventually, you realize, you must set the past aside and focus on what is truly important. That guilt is useful, but only to a point, and once it surpasses that point to become a hindrance then it must be discarded.

So, what does it matter? It does me no good to think about this. I cannot keep looking back or I risk missing an opportunity to move forward.
