Like someone running on four espresso shots and three energy drinks trying to fix everyone’s fuck ups. That man also has the most dad energy ever. You look at him and you know he’s gonna pull out a picture of his children then talk about them for an hour. Like you know he considers the distress of his children the biggest catastrophe that can happen. I’m saying he’s a natural caregiver and protector, but not someone who talks about his feelings, ever. Let him be grumpy, tired and sassy. Stop with the infantilizing of his character!! That man probably works for ten hours straight gets home plays with his children then sleeps for four hours max. Let’s be honest here he’s no tradwife or whatever bullshit like that. His husband may be a lot older than him but that’s it. He had kids before marriage, so what. He got them at a reasonable age and I do consider it some Christian influence that people think marriage needs to come before kids. He also got married at a reasonable age. His husband is older but right now Alec wields a lot more power if we consider his political standing. He also probably should stay far away from the kitchen. And yeah he doesn’t clean but let’s be honest Magnus doesn’t either he just clicks his fingers. As for money they both have more than enough neither of them cares about that. He’s present for his children omg … just like a good father should be that doesn’t mean he’s mother like. He’s moved in with his boyfriend… yes and they both gonna move to Alicante at some point so what. Btw by implying that Alec is very innocent and childlike and is babied by Magnus to the point where he doesn’t do anything bcs Magnus does everything for him. Is not only disrespectful to the character himself whose journey was about gaining independence, forming their own opinions about things and learning to be brave. But also disrespectful to Magnus for implying that he’s attracted to childlike features. I also just heavily dislike feminizing queer male characters who don’t feminize themselves (for example: Wei Wuxian does feminize himself) Like Magnus does wear traditionally feminine things like nail polish and makeup and he’s still a masculine man and Alec is less experienced at an age where it’s totally normal and fine to be less experienced. It doesn’t make him more feminine or “more baby” it’s just makes him less experienced in one area of his life. He does immature things and so does Magnus. Because Magnus is still a person he has his fault insecurities and hang ups. Saying otherwise is a disservice to his character who always wanted to be fundamentally humane. Also going back to a point I made far up in the post. Have you seen how this man talks to his husband. There’s no way anyone who adores their lover this much doesn’t spoil them. He probably spends hours trying to come up with perfect gifts and places to have dates for Magnus. He likely compliments him a lot. In my head they both are on a mission to spoil each other and give each other good things. Like trips to Paris and changing the law.
