Dang this whole scene with Hazel and Grace and how they're gonna deal with Hazel's transformation is so heartbreaking.
Apparently Hazel doesn't even know what's happening to her either since she's freaking out and trying to get her shell off and scratch at her skin.
Grace is understandably confused and immediately backs away from her but she doesn't keep her distance from Hazel makes her way back to her when she starts to talk about Tuba and wanting to see her again.
Instead deciding to just comfort her and explains that Tuba is gone forever, with Hazel asking since she's like this does Grace hate her since she hated Tuba. Although Grace says that she didn't hate her, Hazel knows that Simon did.
To which then she becomes absolutely terrified at the thought that Simon could eventually kill her too if he found out.
Grace quickly teaches her how to calm down so she can control and that they just won't tell Simon about it. Which we all know will go swimmingly well.
But I like how they made Grace react in this scene, even though Hazel is a null, she doesn't think any less of her due to her time with her and wants to still protect her, even more than ever.
