#JackedKirby - Collaging With The King... π₯π₯π₯ Kirby was doing some wild things in the pages of Marvel Comics during his epic creation era of 1959-72, but none were more experimental and cooler than his application of collages to the pages of his comics!!! He started the practice in the Fantastic Four, and continued to implement them into many of his works that followed. One of those issues was The Mighty Thor #Issue161 (published in February of 1969). π₯π₯π₯ In this awesome collage we see Thor and The Recorder thrust into the dark recesses of outer space after their ship is destroyed by a battle between Ego the Living Planet And Galactus!!! This portion of space is known as the βBlack Galaxyβ and Jack utilizes some stylized black and white space scapes as the background to his traditional comic images of Thor, The Recorder And a space ship belonging to the alien Wanderers in the foregrounds (all in color!)... π₯π₯π₯ You gotta love the weightlessness that Thor displays (pic 4) with his long blond locks of hair floating aimlessly and his arms sprawled out... and I also love that the trusty Mjolinir is tucked securely into his belt loop!!! π₯π₯π₯ A beauty of a collage just tossed in by the King... itβs times like these when I feel he was showing off his skills just a bit!!! π₯π₯π₯ #JackKirby #KingKirby #Kirby #TheMightyThor #Thor #Galactus #Ego #Asgard #OuterSpace #KirbySpace #CosmicKirby #KirbyCollages #ComicBookCollages #ComicCollages #Comic #Comics #ComicBook #ComicBooks #60sComics #ComicsOfThe60s #IGcomics #ComicsOfIG https://www.instagram.com/p/BximEz5B0pn/?igshid=162j18211pm65
